Show Us Your Mug

Have you ever notice that coffee, tea and hot cocoa taste just a little bit better in a great mug?  I for one,  am a fanatic about the mug I drink out of. My morning coffee is my favorite time of day and I want the experience to be perfect in every way.  If I am not pleased with the mug I have chosen,  it takes a bit of joy away from the moment.I am guessing if I feel this way, several of you do as well.  For this reason we are starting a new series of posts at the Cross Country Cafe blog- Show us Your Mug! Each week I will pick a mug picture submitted by a reader, me or simply a cute mug I come across online or in a store.

Let’s get to this weeks mug…submitted by me!

This mug is a one of a kind original collectors edition,  hand painted by my daughter when she was 5!  We frequent a local paint your own pottery studio once a year.  This particular time we decided to create something for each other rather than for ourselves.  I made her a  cute little horse statue and she made me this beautiful mug.  Every time I drink out of it,  I smile thinking of that special day.  A great memory that we will not forget thanks the treasures we lovingly made for one another.

I was so enamored with this art piece and what it represents,  we have since returned to the studio and made several more designs for family members!

In my previous posts I have directed to a website that you can purchase the featured mug in case it suites your fancy.  This one obviously wont be found anywhere but,  I did find a paintable mug on Amazon and I have seen them in craft stores.

This would make a great rainy day project!  I have to say that the Amazon cost is much lower than what we paid at the paint your own pottery studio however,  they did glaze it for us which gives it a nice look.

Have any of your children made you a one of a kind mug?  Please share,  you can email pictures to aprilkschroeder@yahoo.com.
