Coffee Recipe- Cafe Con Panna

If you have been around awhile you have come to know (and hopefully love) our Monday K-cup coffee recipes.  I love fun, easy to make coffee drinks. They are a simple indulgence that can usually be made with ingredients already in your kitchen.  There will be no running to the local coffee shop around here, no sir, we have Keurig’s in our kitchen that make these recipes easy peasy.

Up this week…Cafe Con Panna.

cafe con panna

Cafe Con Panna is a very simple yet extremely indulgent coffee house drink that can be made at home quite easily.  Not only is making this recipe at home  a piece of cake, it saves you big bucks!

Generally, Cafe Con Panna is not even listed on the menu at most coffee shops. It simply is not a popular drink in America.  Although I am not sure why.  It packs a powerful espresso punch paired with creamy, sweet whipped cream… delicious!

Wont you feel savvy when you not only know what it is but, how to make it.

You will need:

1 shot of espresso

Whipped cream

First, prepare a shot of espresso using your Moka Pot (click here for directions) or espresso machine.  I of course use a Keurig alternative as well.  Brew a Dark Magic Keurig Kcup on the lowest water setting of the Keurig and you will get a close cousin of espresso!

Immediately transfer your espresso to a demitasse cup and top with whipped cream.  Sip and enjoy!

Can you believe it is that simple?  This is a great drink for those trying to break into the world of espresso but are not quite ready for the full affect. The whipped cream tones the coffee down a bit and provides just the perfect dash of sweetness!
