Coffee and Dessert Pairings

Coffee and dessert pairings

Peanut butter and jelly, eggs and bacon, dessert and coffee.  There are just some things that go together.  I for one enjoy a decadent dessert far more with a great cup of coffee. Coffee flavor just seems to be the icing on the cake (no pun intended), makes it taste that much better and adds to the sweet tooth satisfaction!

But, did you know that certain coffee pair better with different types of desserts? Dessert is one thing you want to get just right.  Let us help you make it perfect by choosing the best coffee to enjoy with your favorite treat.

Light roast coffees will enhance the flavors of:

-Light cakes and cookies such as Angel Food Cake

-Cooked fruit desserts such as  lemon pie, compote, meringue or peach and apple cobbler.

-Fresh fruit desserts such as tarts or shortcake.

We recommend Green Mountain Breakfast Blend Keurig Kcup coffee with these desserts.

Medium roast coffees should be paired with:

-Desserts that are creamy and light in texture such as, creme brulee, tiramisu and flan.

-Chocolate cake

-Spiced desserts such as carrot cake or apple pie.

-Cannoli and cheesecakes that are on the lighter side.

Green Mountain Colombian Fair Trade Select would be a good choice with these desserts.

Dark Roast coffees combine well with:

-Coffee flavored desserts such as espresso gelato or mocha cake.

-Biscotti

-Dark chocolate

-Sweet breads, croissants and bread pudding

-Dense cheesecake

-Rich chocolate truffles and mousse

-Desserts containing caramel or nuts

Green Mountain Dark Magic extra bold Kcup coffee would taste amazing with these dishes.

I hope this help take your desserts up just one more delicious notch.  Do me a favor everyone…indulge a little, life is too short not too : )
